The Arishan 500 kV Power Transmission and Transformation Project (under the ‘Alxa Power to Wuhai’ initiative) is 2,531 km away from the BODA Precision’s plant — the facility where the oil tanks of the project’s power transformer were manufactured. While this distance would span several countries if it were in Europe, it remains a domestic project in China.
The “Alxa Power to Wuhai” Regional Interconnected New Energy Project, which it serves as the core, adopts a power generation method combining wind power + photovoltaic power: This new energy project is planned and constructed with a capacity of 2,000 MW, including an installed capacity of 300 MW of wind power and 1,700 MW of photovoltaic power respectively, and is also equipped with grid-forming energy storage (300 MW/600 MWh) to realize the production and outward transmission of clean energy.
